Picture of my first grow

I just wanted to share a picture of my first grow, five plants in four pots (the two runts of the litter share a pot). This is their two-month birthday, so I guess I'll switch over to bloom mode unless you guys think they need more time in veg. Any other suggestions are certainly welcome.

I have really learned a lot from this first grow, and I want to think all of you here for the guidance and support. You guys are the best.

Thank you, sir. Being a newbie, I wasn't sure if I should let them go another week or so.

depends how much space you have, personally I`d get them into bigger pots or sacks and give them 1 to 2 weeks to bed in before flipping to flower, I might even go longer than that

but in all honesty if I had nothing in flower I`d take some cuttings or start some new seeds and set them off flowering, if you can`t veg longer and want bud fast you can always flower off what you have and run more veg

Thank you. I was wondering about taking cuttings. These plants seem so vigorous and I'd love to let them live another generation or so. Is this the time to do it or should I wait? It's always tempting to rush your first grow through to harvest, but I'm okay with waiting if I get a better result in the end.

Again, I'm so appreciative of your help.

there big enough now for taking clones then let them veg a few days to recoup before flowing I would what longer then that just to make sure all the clones rooted remember to mark plant with the correct clones from it in case of male you can get rid of it unless you what males around for seeds

Excellent! Thank you. I'll take your advice.

I see lots of lower branches that would make good cuttings, you won`t lose much if you take some cuttings like 2 to 4 lower branches off each plant, before or after pot them into bigger pots give them a week or 2 of veg if you want more yield

either way you can root the cuttings in a small box with a cfl and veg them somewhere else or flower them once they are rooted not like taking clones costs much so sometimes its faster to flower off more small clones over a few bigger plants, some strains taste better if you do that, others are nicer if you grow them into trees and flood them with all the light you can get, lol

I agree with what everyone here has said...I am curious as to how you are growing ? Indoor, tent, closet...? Looks like you have topped them a couple time to keep em short and bushy which is good for a 4x4 tent.

And yes, take your clone cuttings from the lower branches and cut them as close to the main stalk as you can...that way they have more rooting hormone...and better chance to root.

So if your plants flower in say 55 to 60 days...take your clones, root em which takes 2 to 3 weeks under 24 hr light, then transplant and let em adjust for a week and then veg for 4 to 6 weeks and flip em into 12/12 as you harvest your others...

Now...thos.is all assuming you are indoors with seperated veg and flower capabilities

cheers

Yes, I'm growing indoors in a "spare" walk-in closet. It's turning out to be a pretty good setup. I've viewed this as my "practice" grow (a time to make sure I have all the equipment I need, a chance to learn the basics, etc.), but I'm quite pleased with it. I'm sure you long-time growers could coax a lot more yield out of the plants, but I'll get better as I go along.

I'm growing under LEDs as a matter of fact. In addition to the walk-in closet, we have another interior closet that we've converted to a wine room. I might buy a smaller, cheaper LED setup just for clones and stick them in the "wine cellar". :D

Cool...A wine cellar grow room...

So let me add this...You can root your clones in any rooting cube in a plastic clone dome with a seeding mat under that all lit 24 hrs with a small CFL...

Then you get a 6 or 8 light T5 fixture for vegging under 18/6 light cycle...plants that veg under a T5 won't stretch as much as under a metal halide...

Sounds like a fun hobby/practice you have got going...no need for the big yields...I don't have big yields...I just enjoy growing really cool plants..

Cheers
