PICS of my First Grow under T-12's, T-5's/Soil

are those t5's they are under? if you have a multi bulb fixture. like lets say a 4 bulb. they will actually get more lumens a little bit further away because they will recieve light from more bulbs at once. I veg under t-5's and noticed that about 1.5" away was working better than .5" an inch away very quickly because when they were very close they were only recieving light from 1 to 2 of the bulbs.

I aggree......when your plants start taking off....you may not be there to raise the lights, and the tops will burn...at 1 and a half inches, you got a couple hours to re-adjust yer lights...good luck

under the old t12 at the moment. switching to a t-5 later in the week. PICS are coming.

All I can say is im on my 2nd grow with a T5. I keep them about 2 feet away from the fixture, and i have monsters. I'll have pics soon of my setup

2 feet isnt too far away? Ive heard within 2-4 inches for best results. Results do tell the tale however. What is a good brand, or does it even matter, when buying T-5's? MY setup is going to be changing a bit this week. Im going to put in a shelf about 3' high off the floor. On this shelf I will have all my plants that will be flowering, basically dividing the closet in half laterally. On the top will be the 8 bulb four foot T-5 and below will stay with the t-12 that is there now. Below will be constant 24 hour cycle for clones and veg. Im going to be B/W Pandaing the whole thing and adding an exhaust fan probably next week. Im hoping to get, and should in theory, a yield every two months of about a pound. This is a hopeful estimate but not something I think is out of reach. Perhaps not this first grow of mine, but once its all worked out. Here are some pics on Day 18. The development of the leaves are nice and healthy. Five to seven nodes on all five of them. I gave them a nice warm water spritz last night on the top and bottom of the leaves and into the air and they seemed to have sprouted overnight. Im having to move the light an inch every two days at most.
