Pics! Growing goes by so slow! Time to flower?

Sheeesh here I am thinking my plants grow slow as hell. Maybe growing has just slowed down my perspective on things. Not sure. Anyhow, here are pics of my 3 Northern Lights and 2 Afgan x Mazar. I read this in the book 8oz for $100:

In nature this plant would
continue with its vegetative stage for 4-12 additional weeks. It would grow into a massive
plant 4-15 feet (1. 2-4. 5 meters) tall and the sun would provide more than adequate
light for the dense plant. The complete life cycle from germination through
flowering can take more than 20 weeks. Today the plant was forced into its flowering
stage at only 16 days old. The timer was adjusted so that the lights are on for 12 hours
and off for 12 hours. The plant will not produce buds without 12 hours of uninterrupted
darkness every 24 hours.

So I think Im going to go ahead and start to flower, what do you guys think? Thanks!

Why rush it? That is growing at just the right speed. Growing good ganja takes patience, I am almost positive you've heard of patience is a virtue.. Well, sir, it is. I would NOT flower yet if I were you, I am sure you'd be severely disappointed come harvest, you won't have at all the yield you were expecting.

Good point but here is another point from the book:

Why force the plant out of its vegetative stage and into the flowering stage so early?
CFL lights have limited penetration. They cannot maintain a healthy plant larger than
20 inches (51 cm) in height. Many new indoor growers think a bigger plant means
more buds. Well, they may be right, but more buds do not mean a larger yield (more
weight). A large plant grown under CFL's may have many small fluffy buds, most
weighing less than. 5 grams (. 018 ounces). A smaller plant can produce buds that
weigh 1-15 grams (0. 04-0. 5 ounces)! Not only will a smaller plant produce the same or
more in weight, it will do it in a shorter period of time. A smaller plant, 20 inches (51
cm) or less, can utilize the limited lumens of a CFL better than a large plant because
the light is shining over a smaller area.

If you use side lighting you will have plenty of light to grow large plants. Take a look at Roseman's DIY Bubbleponics Tutorial. He grows huge plants with CFLs all the time. If you have a limited budget and cannot buy more CFLs, then you might want to flower soon but you will be disappointed come harvest time.

props to ya man. the first is all about finding your groove. I was surprised that I did so well my first time yielding a little over an elbow I couldnt believe it. I did spend a lot of time on here learning from others mistakes and coming up with my plan before I jumped in. if you read through most of Rosemans tutorials he covers everything pretty much. after I read all those I decided to by a couple of grow books to see what the ol man ED Rosenthal had to say about things and I found that I couldnt actually read them cause Id start reading and it was all stuff that I already learned on here from guys like Roseman, Al B fuct, potroast, mostlycrazy and a few others. goodluck man there not dead yet so your doing something right.
