phosphorous and potassium

need a little help so i thought i would pic the brains of you professionals, i have been doing many searches online and still cant find the answer.

my Q is what is the ideal p.h level for plant to absorb phosphorous and potassium (pk13/14) . using N.F.T system

would be very grateful for an answer

every thing I read say 5.5-6.5 7 at the highest

thats all i been reading
but i know plants take in diffrent nutes at diffrent p.h levels. i once saw a chart, and sure they absorbs best at 5.5

can some one please elaborate

Note that while some are more available at slightly higher pH, rainwater is typically around pH 5.6. Although it has no dissolved solids in it, rainwater is not pH 7.0 because it has a tiny amount of carbon dioxide dissolved in it, forming carbonic acid.

For maximum absorbtion your pH should be at 7.0, neutral pH is where the magic happens, so if you ran your pH at any thing less than7.0, lets say 5.5 you are wasting 32.69% of your fertilizer, at 6.0 you are wasting 19.67%.

Note Potassium is 100% uptake from 6.0 to 7.0, Phos drops to 52% at 6.0

now thats really confused me!!!!! i been reading that its really un healthy to run p.h at 7.0 and keep it at 5.7 for n.f.t

so now i am thinking it a really good thing to run it up at 7.0 in the last few weeks. would this be right? confused.com

I don't know about NFT, maybe look into it more before you change. I don't want to screw your grow up, I grow in dirt so am not a NFT expert. IMHO uptake of elements is the same, but I could be wrong.

Recommend you take your question to a university like Clements or Texas Agrilife. Next choice would be a tech at Dyna-Gro Corp.

For the record, my rainwater pH is neutral.

i know the p.h is recomended at 5.8 but sill unsure for safe ulimate absorbent for n.f.t

Spent most of last night reading on NFT and it looks like most people have it a 5.8 to 6.6, could not find a definitive number.

with the nft it a good idear to run the p.h from 5.5 to 6.5 step by step 0.2 each day. but still not found the best p.h level for phosphorous and potassium. some one here must have the answer!!!

I read a botanist/scientests words and max uptake in hydro/nft, my system too, is 5.2, and bye the way rain water that I have tested is 7+. Wow the info on here can be so off. 5.8 is a standard that allows most things to work best together but 5.5 is a good shoot for when uptake in flower of K and P are your goal. I let mine bounce a bit but not swing. Up to 5.8 to down around 5.3......

I've been growing in hydro since the '70's. I keep my res at 5.8 pH, and let it rebound to 6.2 and then adjust back to 5.8.

That's the best range for hydro nutrient availability, for soil you want it 6.5 pH.

My sweet spot in hydro is 5.9 but i'm comfortable with 5.6-6.1. Dirt is more like 6.3-6.7 I think.

Well 5.8 is where you should shoot for but as I have read about this many times and one very well regarded botanist said it. So do as you please but I get huge results from my grow and I keep the ph most of the time like to day, at 5.5. Max uptake of K is 5.2. Go do some research. 5.4 is also in much literature stating it is a good hydro flowering ph. Like I said I split hairs and mine has worked out every time very well.. 6.2 or a bit higher for veg/clone. Over 6 is just not where you want to be in hydro in flower and if you can read you will see it all over every site on the web except from idiots that post shit they know nothing about.. 6.2 is quite high for a water no soil plant enviornment end of story.. Look up Max uptake of K in hydro botany.. Then come back and tell me what you read. Or qoute one respectable source that says 6.2 in flower/hydro is where you want to be.. WOW!!!!

With your months of experience to go by, I'm sure that other members will choose whom to believe.

OK this is where I disagree with you, living dirt 7.0, for max uptake of all elements. Full stop. Got proof show me. But this is about hydro.......
