ok so ive been searching for the perfect lighter. the cannabible talks so much about butane being horrible for the flavor of cannibis, and kills your body. it suggests a phedor, or vape, or a magnifying glass(sorry im a potgeek, but not a fucking harrypotter-potgeek.) have a volcano, but was wondering how good it would feel/taste to take a vaporized bong rip out of the roor. anyone ever tried a phedor or know of any other butaneless techniques? http://wickedroots.com/Vaporizers/Herbal-Vaporizer.html
i dont wanna drop 150 on this and then it be just a crappy volcano knockoff. i wanna actually taste some weed with a good clean glass roor without butane. sounds like someone else may have had this idea but ive searched and found nothing. any input is great. thanks also check out my master kush dwc

I've tried cedar to light before which was pretty tastey.
I lit the cedar (just a sliver of the wood), with a stick match, let it burn for a bit then hit the water pipe.

*I just did a quick search and saw that some use a "Hakko" or other brand of soldering iron to light with. A lot cheaper than the phedor! Of course you would want to buy new and not use an old one. As far as vaporizers, I'm still clueless.*

Hey Roorsmoker,
I have had a phedor for years. They are great! It is just that, a butaneless lighter. Its kinda like a little lightsabre. The only drawback is that it has no on/off swicth so be careful not to burn yourself or set it down on anything flamable. Ive burned myself pretty bad before with it. It is very expensive in my opinion but if you want that clean butaneless taste, its the way to go. If you are familiar with a Silver Surfer Vaporizer the phedor is basically the same heating element used in the SSV, a ceramic stick that heats up mega-hot. I like it because I too am a pot-geek. I like to use it when i puff out of my molecular bubbler, hammer sherlock, sidecar or bong for that ultimate taste. (I am a huge glass lover)But, yes it is totally expensive. On a seperate note, Steve, the guy who came up with the SSV, is designing one that will be out soon that will have an on/off switch and I think a few other features as well. I reccomend that you contact him on the SSV website to see when it will be ready. You can say that Cheech Wiz told you about it. But, yeah, I use and like the phedor, it works very well, is built sturdy out of black aircraft aluminum, uses a clean ceramic wand for heating element. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me bro. Hope I helped....

You can hover it over your bowl and use it as a mini vaporizer also, or just ignite the herb and use it as a butaneless lighter

"Bee Line is a Multi Purpose Product. It is Bees Waxed covered Hemp String used as an all natural alternative to light fine cigars, hand rolled cigarettes, pipes, candles, BBQ Grills and more. When extinguished correctly, it doesn't put off any stinky excess smoke. It doesn't alter the taste like the toxic flint and butane from a lighter or paraffin wax, gelatin, silica, animal protein glue and fillers from matches. Bee Line does need an external flame to light (Lighters work great) we recommend using a Soy Wax Candle"

I can personally attest the the kickassness of bee line. They convinced me, the only drawback is the lighting of it. I have solved this by wrapping my bic lighter in the bee line so I always have it handy and I also have a built in way to light it. I also know the company offers medical discounts for patients! They supplied us with samples to use for the Harvest Cup MMJ patient celebration last month, a great product from a great company. the site is www.beelinehawaii.com
