Well I'm changing bulbs from mh to hps and the ballast has the stand by code for the past 40 minutes... Any Advice on this?..

yes I know its got the 15 min delay thing... I still isn't working though

my mh bulb worked fine

these are ipower brand bulbs.. I know not the best but it still should fucking work....

Pretty irritated over this..

Is the ballast unplugged when the bulbs are changed?

Wasnt unplugged but the timer was off and the ballast was off. I unplugged it I'm gonna see if that works. I'm gonna be happy but pissed if it does because I thought I tried everything lol.

Some ballasts don't reset properly until they are fully unplugged......just thought I'd throw that out there.

Just plugged it back in. Was unplugged about 10 minutes. Gotta wait for the 15 minute warm up thing and we will see if it sparks up. Will post if it does or doesn't. I'm hoping it does because I'm sexing my plants early..

No clue what the hell the problem was... Would start so I put my mh in it fired up right away unplugged the ballast put my hps back in, plugged it in and it worked right away.... Makes no sense to me

came home today and the light wasnt on... went in the closet and im having the same issue.. what the hell is wrong??? it was on fine last night after i fixed it.. now when its soposted to turn on again its giving me standby.....

my htg supply magnetic was better then this thing.... i never had problems with that.....

i think its my timer.. when i turn the timer on, and plug the ballast in it fires right up. do i need a digital timer for a phantom ballast? my current timer is a magnetic

Any answers to this? I would like my light to work correctly on a timer might just waste cash on a digital timer and see if that works.

thank the powers that be you got there in time, timer problems scary. haven't heard of a ballast having to have a digi timer though, how old is the timer?

It's 2 or 3 years old. I think it's the timer because I turn it a little and the ballast lights blink which indicate its on, but when I let go it shuts off. I think that's what it's doing as its changing the time and its causing it not to start up because it hasn't rested after a immediate reset

The ballast works fine when I turn the timer to a time when it would be off, unplug the ballast and plug it back in, then turn it to a time it would be on.

But, when it turns the light off and its time to turn back on. It won't, I just get standby..

To get it to turn on, I need to repeat the above steps

I see, my bad earlier I linked 240v timer, the 120v timer for 600w phantom @ 10$ on hydrofarm :

From related tab:

Seems to be suggested price pretty cheap, atleast 10$ won't be a big loss ordering that one.

The couple digital ones on there seem to be pretty cheap too, probably not worth the hassle of messing with that other timer if you don't find any solutions in the near future. (assuming its not the ballast feature the other replier was referencing)

I don't think it is.. The ballast isn't even a month old.. But it can be possible.. Like I said earlier, when I turn it it turns on and the ballast standby lights flash which indicates that the ballast is getting power. But when I let go of the timer knob, it turns off. I think it does the when its doing the time (like when the timer turns idk how else to explain it) and then when it clicks over to turn on, it hasn't been rested for 15 minutes thus giving me a stand by code...

Think thats the one it recommends on related items in hydrofarm store.

Is that what your using already?

Looks like its from wwII, lol.

That's an industrial timer used every day by electricians everywhere.... it's what you want... it's bullet proof.... if you have a power outage, that thing comes right back on... They also have those in a water proof cover, if you need that...

It's the timer, stop the nonsense... get the timer.... your grow is wasting.... why haven't you left yet?
