so i have 2 girls in a 4x8x10 closet, 5 weeks old, in homemade "water farm" type connected 5 gallon buckets, with a reservoir and pump spraying fluids from above the clay rocks.i have dropped close to about 100ml of pH down within a 5 day span, yet it keeps rising back up to 6.2-6.3, and the ppm keeps rising too. temps run 75-80, humidity at about 50%, room water temp at about 70-77, using aqua flakes, hygrozyme.

another question i have is aqua flakes says to use 5.5ml of each 2 part nute, per gallon of water, for 1st week of veg. i use 10ml of each nute for all 5 gallons of water in the reservoir, plus 32ml of hygrozyme. That alone brings my ppm to the 400-500 range. If i follow directions my ppm would roughly be around 2000-2500ppm for 1st week of veg?? my question is WTF??? (this is an old pic btw)

You should have put the sprayers inside the buckets aiming up. See if you can change your sprayers to foggers, or drip nozzles. Sometimes in those systems you only have to use about half the nutrients that the schedule calls for. 6.2 or 6.3 isn't too bad. I'd get worried if it was above 6.5

change your res now. this used to happen to me all the time. i was using a three part nute mix and i think the nutes got out of balance as i topped off over the week and i had no idea what to do. my ph would go up to 6.2, i would drop it to 5.9, every freaking night. eventually my plants suffered and nearly died.
i dont know what aqua flakes are. hygrozyme - i dont remember what that is (peroxide?), but change the res.
are you useing tap water? whats the PH and PPM? maybe you need a nute that is made for hardwater (tap water). i use a micro hardwater in my nutes.

what kind of water r u using?
if it distilled or ro water....u must have some kind of buffer.....aqua flakes?dont know what they r but it dont sound like they have buffers in them
solution:
if ur tap water isnt too hard ,u can use that cuz it naturally has buffer in it
or used ditilled and switch to better nutes or get a water buffer from pets mart for the range u need
hope this helps

If your waters real super hard even ph buffers from petsmart wont keep it down long. I don't know the first thing about hydroponics but i'm an old hand with aquariums.

i meant the buffers for the distilled if the nutes dont have them
tap water already has them and will keep the ph better than distilled:mrgreen:bongsmilie:joint::eyesmoke:

using tap water.
i know this sounds stupid but did u ph ur water after u added nutes and before u put it in the res?
all i can say is change ur res....and if it still does it then it could be ur nutes....or maybe root rot.....or if ur using hydroton and its ur first res,it can make it flucuate
but change it reguardless

but my pots are lightproof, cleaned, temps are 75f and i use hygrozyme. i already changed my reservoir water on both my separate set ups. my plants aren't dying, the roots are great on the 5 weekers, the ones suffering are the 2 weekers, their roots arent growing as fast as they should be

so only the 2 weekers r bad?and there using the same res as the 5 weekers?
could it be that ur over fertilizing them?

wash your hydroton again, if it isn't washed really good it will cause to ph to rise. If your ppm is rising lower your nutes ppm solution. The plant is emptying in the res instead of using them. Good luck
