Ph question

Hi, not a complete noob but I'm having ph problem

I have a homemade rdwc with 85l but with a 45l pot, the ph of the butt is 5.8 but the ph of the pot is 4.4... why does this happen when the water is the same and recirculating

Also the ph is 5.8 while the pump is running but if I turn the pump off and test it reads approx 2.0 under what it does while the pumps running...

Which should I go by and why is this happening???

Also ph pen was calibrated about 2 weeks ago

Thanks in advance

If needed pictures can be added but not really needed for the questions

You need a second pH test with a different method, like a different pen or goto pet store and get a pH tester for aquariums, or take a sample and have them test. Verify.

Could be low D.O but the swing you suggest is odd to say the least.

Usually ime. When phing if the water is moving I get a more accurate reading as when it's not moving air gets trapped in the pens sensor. Maybe it's this ,but something isn't right, ph should be the same. Or only a bit out on circulation, I'm not a hydro grower really, only dabbled with it over the years, you need to jump on the hydro thread maybe. I know that ph takes time to settle (after up/down and if you rush your reading without doubt next time it'll be different
