Ph Problem

Plant burning up round the edges

Hydro 5 gal water farm
Nute: Flora Nova Bloom
Light: 4' 2 bulb t8's ( x2 )
Air Stone in the bottom of bucket
Going in Hydroton
PH: Up to 6.5

Dropped ph down yesterday to just below 6 and the ppm's are about 650. Than checked today and PH was up to 6.5. Thinking maybe ph problem. Was thinking flushing with plain water and reset ph. Anything else I should ad? Should I drop the ppm's down? Any kind of additive I can ad that I can pick up at local walmart or even home depot.

Thanks

got a pic? When I was at my hydro shop there was this guy in there complaining that he couldn't keep his ph stable either. What kind of water are you using and how are you testing it?

using my tap water. ppm is around 70 and ph is 6.8 or so. I am using a hanna muiltimeter. I will take pics later today and throw them up

try using bottled water?? might be a little more stable, but your tap waters ppm is low mine is almost 300

Your tap water is fine. Did you wash out the hydroton before you used it? If you don't thoroughly wash out the dust from the hydroton it will raise your ph. If you're experiencing burned leaf tips then yes lower your ppms down a bit and see if that helps.

I cleaned my hydroton and soaked it for 2 days. I cleaned buckets out again today and reset ph to 5.5 and added ppm to 500 and hung the 600 hps about 4 feet above. In veg for about 10 days not. Gonna try new light and slowly drop it down each day. Hung the thermostat within 10 inches of the light for 3 hours and I the temp barely hits the 72 degree mark so I dont got to worry bout burning the plants with the light. Just dont want to shock them with all the extra light
