so i just got a ph meter finally and i watered my 5 ladies with fox farm nutes ph'd to 6.5, and when i measured the run off it was around 5.4 to 5.5. i know that is too low and i was wondering if next time i water should i ph the water to 7.5 to compensate or what? any help would be appreciated, im new to this new whole ph thing

Either flush with water PHed somewhere between 6.5 -7.0(depends on preference. I like 6.8, myself), then wait til the runoff comes out the same, or, you can do the same thing, except adding 1-2 tablespoons on hydrated lime to each gallon of the water you're using for flushing. The lime will help stabilize the soil, add calcium and magnesium, plus, help hold the PH within spec, longer. Either way will work great. (I use lime, at about 2 tbs/gal.)

hydrated lime? never heard of it, i added 1 tbs of dolomite per gallon of soil when i mixed it up and i was told that would help buffer some ph issues, but apparently not enough. thanks for ur help tho, ill look out for hydrated lime, unlesss would dolomite lime work too?
