pH of 7.2-7.6 ... put a halt on the nutes?

I know when the ph gets that alkaline it’s harder for them to absorb the nutes (hence the brown tipped leaves), so do you take a break on the nutes? I want to say they are still hanging out in the soil waiting to be absorbed, but some second opinions would be nice. Tiger Bloom came in the mail, debating using it. Any thoughts?

If you have brown tips you’re most likely over feeding and getting some nute burn. Leafs tend to lime or yellow up during lock out. If I’m you I’m going to water with 6.0 ph water until I get the soil ph back on track. After that go back to your feeding schedule at 1/2 strength and work back up if your using liquid ferts. Also make sure your paying attention to the ph while feeding.

If you want a quick temporary fix until everything balances back out get some gypsum that will raise your acid levels below 7 for about 2-3 weeks until it wears off and your soil regulates itself.

I’m actually going to do that, we have a good Kangan water store in town that can sell me some for pretty cheap. I could have included in the original post that I stopped the nutes a week and a half ago, brown tips be staying though. That 6.0 water will do wonders I’m sure

That’s good you stopped feeding already. Also the tips that are burned will stay burned, They will be like that until harvest. If you’re not seeing any new burn or any distorted new growth, that means you’re correcting the issue

The amount of crap you learn on your first grow is unreal.

Absolutely. And you’re going to keep learning every grow. Then your going to grow the same strain more than once and learn even more strain specific things. Never be afraid to ask a question. The only bad question is one you didn’t ask. Good luck with your grow. Hope you have a solid first harvest brother!

Much much appreciated man, just trying to be a sponge. While we’re at it, after a week and a half with no nutes and an f’d up pH, what do you think about 1/4 strength (in this case tigerbloom) mixed in with that 6.0 water?

Do you have a ph meter? One that can test soil and one for water? You will need to be able to test both. Once your soil is back in the 6.0 - 6.5 range you can start feeding again. Then you can feed using half the recommended amount. If this is too alkaline or acidic, then you need to adjust your feeding solution so that it is back in the correct range. Many nute companies sell Ph up or Ph down solutions. You will continue to do this as you feed and up your feeding. If your feeding solution is always adjusted to the proper PH, your chances for lockout occurring again is low.

oh and by feeding solution, I mean your ferts mixed in with the water. You want that solution to have the correct Ph

Surely noted, thanks. Here is a before shot of the 6.0 water admin. Not sure what’s going on when those white spots on the leaves. I’ll bump the post again in a week with an after shot from the same angle. We’ll see what happens!

I didn’t know you were flowering already. So from a feeding stand point they look good. They are just fading because you’re close to harvest. However looks like you have some pest/mildew issues. I see a little powdery mildew and those white oval shapes things look to me like the old exoskeletons from aphids, meaning you probably have them on the underside of your leaves. They will mostly be green or yellow and the same shape

If pests/mildew is an issue, should I just say f it and harvest a little early?

Not necessarily. I would not spray them right now with anything other than water and hydrogen peroxide since you’re in flowering. For the aphid you can hose as much of them off as possible, not too much pressure to hurt the plant but enough knock them off. To deal with the mildew your best option is hydrogen peroxide and water mixture. You can use it in a spray bottle and hit the leaves with it. Then do a wash with it at harvest. This link will help.

Yeah you’re looking alright man. You can manage everything at hand safely and pretty successfully. Take care of the aphids first. Like asap. Just don’t spray directly on the buds if you can help it. A little water won’t hurt but don’t let them get drenched

As a re-bump, mildew, or aphids? I’m seeing more and very much debating an early harvest...I looked under every leaf and didn’t see a single bug.... Curious to know anyone’s thoughts, thanks in advance

there are bugs for sure, the plant looks finished enough in my eyes that you arent "early" harvesting imo, I would be giving them an ISO bucket dunking when chopped
