pH meter wont calibrate :/

Hi, I have an ADWA AD-100 ph meter

Instructions say when I calibrate I should use ph 7.01 calibration liquid and place the meter inside it, press cal(ibrate), then wait until 7 stops blinking (stop blinking means read is stabialized) and press read, repeat the same procedure about ph 4.01

But the damn thing never stops blinking, it blinks and it blinks, I waited for it as long as I could but the unit turns itself off after 8 minutes.

I tried to press read before it stopped blinking, cuz I am pretty sure the calibration liquid is correct, but it doesn't seem to meter anything corectly, my tap water is 7.1 and that unit says 6.4

Mineral water that is supposed to be 9.5 shows 9.8

On my nute water that is 6.7 it says 7.4

it is totally inaccurate, and its a shame I bought it 3 days ago, and it wasn't really cheap also

what should I do?

Hmmm not familiar with that meter. I have a Hanna combo meter (does PH/PPM/TEMP). My first Hanna was one of those that auto calibrate and the instructions sucked ass and it was difficult. The thing stopped reading PPM after a few months (would just show zero) so I sent it back and got a different model... one I'm MUCH happier with. It has the screws you turn while calibrating and I PREFER this method much more then that "auto" crap.

I agree with pot smoker... send it back and get a new one.
