PH issues with Advanced Nutrients

I'm running a table system with a full line of advanced nutrients but the ph is running wild. I added an air-stone and air-pump for extra oxygen and the ph remained constant during the vegetive stage using foxfarm nutes, however, once i switched to AN the PH went crazy.

Anyone have the same problem or suggestions?

flush your system with a salt dissolving agent (such as clearex or florakleen), then make a new batch of nute soup. you're probably having fallout from residual ff mixed with an. are you noticing any white film or residue in the bottom of the res?

an 3 part will buffer to 6.0, if that's all you're using. are you on tap water or ro?

No white film on the resivoir, everything is operating normally and the initial solution will buffers right at 5.8-6.0 then goes crazy with time/use, RO water is being used.

I was having the same problem! My pH would swing a full point daily and I was adding tons of pH down to keep it at 5.6. I found out that I had some decomposition of leaves going on in my filter back into the res area. I try to use screens everywhere I can because of this and make sure to keep your table clean. Its a pain to take all the plants out and really give it a good clean, but if its dirty you can have issues like I did.

AN I would say is one of the more respected brands, but I Can't vouch for their nutes, I've barely used em.

Basically the full line
Bud blood
carboload
big bud
sweet leaf
b52
overdrive
final phase
barricade

I heard something about rockwool affecting the ph with the flood & drain system so I'm thinking that might be a possibility.

Flush thoroughly first off. I wouldn't be surprised if KP2 is right about trouble with the FF and AN stuff playing well together.

Once you finish that mix up a fresh batch of nutes with an extra gallon more than you want to put in the res. Keep that extra gallon nearby so you have roughly the same light/temps/etc and aerate it if you aerate your res. Basically try to make it emulate the conditions of your reservoir as closely as you can, just without the plants, medium, and that stuff.

That will tell you if it's the nutes or the system that's causing most of the trouble.

I noticed that I constantly have to add ph-down quite a bit too. the only thing I can guess its from is my nutes! im using a 70 gal res feeding about 40 girls ....hhmm

The info I got is 8-10 ml per gallon in hydro, used in conjunction with your regular weekly nutes.

Dude, you can't let your res get like that. You gotta dump all that nasty stuff out and clean the rez completely. Bleach, lots of H2O2, both... something. If you don't kill every last bit of that growth in there it will just keep coming back.

If you want to stick with Advanced Nutrients you can break out some Sensizym, that should help keep it from coming back too.
