pH issue with seedlings

Hey guys, I’m brand new to this board. Just popped some beans and thought I’d try to give the fresh seedlings a jump with a little Root Riot ( kelp meal, humid, mycos suppliment) and a touch of molasses. My buddy who I grow with only had the liquid solution to check pH and with the discoloration of the water it was hard to tell if it was in range. The plant stopped drinking and started to appear stagnant. So I ordered a pH pen and the solution was like 5.5 I flushed them with water (Ph 7.1) and checked the runoff water which surprisingly read out at 7.5. Thoughts??

What sort of medium are you using? Ph only matters in soil less/hydro applications. If your using good soil ph doesn’t matter.

Organic Soil from Dr Earth (Pot of Gold). With 25% perlite and a handful of earthworm castings mixed in.

My best results with seeds came from the paper towel method. Pop em in a wet paper towel in a baggie for a few days until the tails pop, then get yourself some light warrior seed starter from fox farm. Wet it down and plant her in. I’ve just been using filtered tap from the brita, I’ve found that works fine if you don’t have a tall boy. Put your dome over top and let em rock. Good luck this year!!

If you want to use ph you need to grow hydro, if you want to grow soil you need to completey ignore ph. Thems your choices :-)
