PH Fluctuation

Anyone have any clues why my PH (in 24 hours) goes from 5.8 to 4.9? I am not liking this fluctuation normally it will go from 5.8 to 6.5 then after a few days balances out between 5.8 to 6.2, have not changed anything in my process the entire grow so I am really scratching my head here... thread link in my signature


Lucas Formula (GH Hardwater Micro / Bloom) adding Canna Boost as an additive 50 ML / 4GA.... as previously stated normal PH fluctuation was from 5.8 to 6.5

This just started recently after a reservoir change. PPM's 950 plant healthy slight nute burn so I backed it to 900 and she is drinking hard. After 4 days PPM went from 950 to 735 (using plain tap water to add back reservoir)

The first day PH went from 5.8 to 4.5!! I see some spots on the larger fan leaves and some browning from PH imbalance already. Anyone have any ideas??

I do have R/O but only use it in flush, can hook it up & run that for awhile with CAL / MAG as an additive

Mix your nutrients ahead of time. A number of reactions can occur with mixed ferts and it would really take some serious chemistry or at least a microscope to know which is happening to you. One thing to be mentioned is organic degradation and its acidifying effects. Basicly, as most things rot, they get more acidic or at least change pH. Bacteria in your system can very easily turn ferts into acids. Anyway, mix it ahead of time in a sterile container and watch the pH. Determine if the change is occurring only when in your hydro system or anywhere you create that particular mix. Once you have the location of the problem, try killing the bacteria. If only in the system then it may need a good cleaning. If it acidifies outside the system, there could be germs in the fertilizer concentrate containers.

It could also just be a chemical reaction from what you are mixing togther, unless the exact same mix never did this before.
