Ph Down, good or bad?

pH down is to lower the pH of your water/nutrient solution to the desired pH measurement.........why would it have a negative impact?
I know what ph down is used for but my partner thinks it does more harm than good… he thinks it causes the clones to yellow out and lock up but I’ve never heard of that happening

pH doesn't really matter for clones since they don't absorb much if any nutrients at all.

I know some companies make clone nutrient solutions, but I have always done plain water when using aero buckets and been fine.

Maybe get a new partner
If you cut clones in Rockwool you have to buffer the cubes @ 5.4-5.5. How can you do that without ph down? Also what science is he using that a proper ph will cause lockout in a plant with no roots?

Do you mean rooting clones or rooted clones? using pH UP or pH Down is necessary for adjusting your final solutions pH before feeding.

As others said, use plain water until the clones have fully rooted. You shouldn't need to pH adjust the plain water.
