ph and ec meter brands recommendation.

hey guys, im looking for a good quality brand on ph meter and EC, mine got problems too fast. Amazon links if is cool =)

I've been using the same Hanna grocheck for 8 yrs or so. Had to buy a replacement probe once and they're around $125 I only calibrate at the beginning of a grow or if my plants have an issue. Usually there's very little or no adjustment needed when I calibrate.

I've always bought bluelab. good warranty too

Bluelab for the pH meter. Longest lasting I have found yet Honestly I would look at spending a little more to get one with the soil probe, you can then measure liquids or your media pH. Apera makes a good one also as does Hanna.

Truncheon for the EC unless you require more precision for some reason. They last forever and are accurate.

I should also say that milwaukee pH meters are the worst I have ever used. One I had to calibrate every time I measured something even if it was 10 seconds after checking a pH, didin't trust it's accuracy because of that. Another one I has never gave a stable reading, it kept fluctuating.

A few months ago I bought a Bluelab EC truncheon to replace the previous one which lasted 18yrs, from back when Bluelab was New Zealand Hydroponics.

They have a reputation for longevity.

One nice thing about the truncheon is it has the different conversions right on the pen. Most people refer to a PPM reading at 0.5 conversion from EC FYI.
