What part of the actual peyote cacti do you eat. I mean do you just cut the whole green button from the roots then slice it up like a tomatoe and let the slices dry and eat them??

Cut above the root! Never pull out the whole creature or you'll devastate her! But, Cannabis Canuck will surely lend you a helping hand in the matter!

As Ndanja stated, when harvesting our beloved little 'yote friends be sure to cut about 2-3mm above the root, leaving said amount of green to allow for survival and eventual pupping. One of my little ones died as a result of a sloppy cut. And there is no need to let the cut tops dry before consumption. Eat them fresh if you can. Any bitter juices left on your blade or cutting board can be conveniently slurped up, which would otherwise be lost if the buttons were left to dry. There is something special about ingesting them fresh. Their spirit is strong.

I hope you enjoy your introduction to Grandfather ;)

Where would you guy suggest getting seeds and how long does it take to grow. I've heard like 3 years and that is the fastest

Lots of online places sell seeds, google, get some pereskiopsis at the same time and graft seedlings for turbo growth.

how long does it take for seedings to get big enough to graft them, is there a in depth peyote thread on Riu?

ag basicaly the seedling is as big as its gonna get for the next 6 months within a week or so from germinating, and is then ready for grafting.

good luck getting some peyote seeds, just look into other alkaloid containing cactus and research a simple extraction and get some pure mescaline

Agreed, you can get pot seeds which are illegal so what makes you think you couldn't get peyote seeds?

Those aren't mine. But from experience, I doubt those yotes are much over a year.
I'm waiting for my pereskiopsis to get bigger before planting new seeds. I still have some.
