Pest Identification

Can anyone tell me what this is and if it is a problem?

Looks like some kind of leaf beetle. Get rid of it.

That is a "bug". That thing is huge and will eat your little plant in like a day.... maybe. In any case I wouldn't want it in my house.

Now i get similar small bugs with different markings but the same colour and as far as i can reference they are all part of a family related to varied carpet bugs.

No expert here but after seeing their larvae i was confident as they are hairy type ugly bastards.

Mine dont touch plants they much prefer dead wood and similar organic matter not green living things.

Bait. Put it on a small fly hook and let it drift in the current.

I'm thinking it came with the new promix hp I just bought as I'd never seen one in my grow before.

If I picked a bushel of morel mushrooms and he was in it , he would just be part of dinner

Thanks for jogging my memory with talk of morel's! I have one pack of frozen chanterelles left in the freezer. Now I know whats for dinner! New York steak, egg noodles with a butter, garlic and chanterelle sauce, and fresh kale from the garden. Plus it's also time to start foraging for morels.

Looks like an Asian lady beetle. like a lady bug but with absolutely no positive benefits. Loves to munch on anything vegetative. Kill it quickly, they multiply attract others and become a massive house pest. They'll live inside walls if there is food and can create massive colonies.

Where I use to live we just recently started having massive asian lady beetle problems. I lived in new brunswick canada. Huge farming province so plenty of food for them to multiply. Essentially during summer instead of moths now we just have these beetles. They beat out all other pests and seem to eat their larva decreasing other pest insects. But once the sun goes down if you have a light on by a window hundreds of these fuckers will try to get in through the cracks and once inside they just continue to multiple. You can use vinager and water around the cracks to keep them away. Vasoline and lard also work as they can't squeeze without gripping the surface much like ants.

Thanks for the link. According to that, they are supposedly bigger than lady bugs. This thing was super tiny and was kind of a yellowish green color. I don't think that really fits the description. I will scour my other plants for others when I get home from work tonight.

Also OP if you contact the promix company about finding the beetle inside the bag they'll likely thank you, send you a couple for a freebie and some money off next purchase.

I've seen thousands of these fuckers, they vary in colour and size.

Almost that time

Ya it just looks like one of the many carpet beetles, if you google the image you get the same looking small bug

Talking bout pests, does anyone know what this is? I thought it may be a lacewing (I know is not a pest), but the body looks different I think?
