Perlite hempy pH

2nd week of flower and runoff pH 6.7. Input is 5.7, using Jacks 321 @ 460ppm and Mad Farmer get down to lower pH. I had no pH swing greater than 0.5 until I added Power Si in late veg. Then pH rose to 7.2 with lockout of P. Flushed with water at pH 5.5 until runoff was the same. Plants growing normally with no leaf symptoms showing. Running 2 gallon buckets and watering 2 times a day to 50% runoff. Should I flush at 3 week mark again or am I shadow chasing runoff pH. Thanks

If it aint broke, don't try to fix it.

Do the plants look good? Don't do anthing drastic. Baby steps, espesialy in flower. maybe a TINY DROP of ph down, but i'd say just observe them and let them run.

I water my Coco hempys every like 3 days lol in 3.5-5 gal buckets though. The whole point of a hempy bucket IMO is to not have to water everyday. Im sure 100% perlite works just fine but I rather have something to hold onto the moisture (vermiculite). Good luck!

i run 100% perlite hempy. i still have issues sometimes, but i have been doing this for many seasons.

you need to flush your medium to reset it completely. i bet you have some algea or other growth in there. if you are not using peroxide, do so. if you input 5.7, you should get 5.9 to 6.2 out after a week or two, not much more. if you are flushing, you should put in 5.7 and get back no more than 5.8. ppm should be within about 10% higher than your input before you stop.

i used to always run 5.8. was great most of the time. i used to also input 5.4 or so if the ph was coming out too high. then i figured out that if i put in peroxide i didnt really have this problem. i ran 5.7 last grow. this grow have a few strains that are acting like the ph is too acidic, so running 5.8 this grow. it's going according to plan.
i run 2gal buckets, but used to run 5 gallon. 2 are better for a lot strains in a small tent.

Thanks Splinter7, flushed tonight at 5.5 , drained and added nutes at 5.7. See what tomorrow brings. 4th hempy run: 3 no problems , but 4th has been a headache since adding PowerSi silicate. My first and last time using it. Been using KISS method, but had to jump on the silica wagon. live and learn. Back to KISS. Thanks again

I've seen in other post that you use pool shock @ 0.1g/gallon, do you use every watering?
0.10 grams per 10 gallons. that's 1ppm up to 5 is safe

i used shock in my feed reservoir so you need to re-add more shock about every 3 to 4 days or so.

but yeah, a daily dose of 1ppm should be fine
