I now see that. 60 degree is the way to go from my research.
8 cobs in a 2x4, with 60degree lenses, even 35watts each COB, would be rockin it, huh.

I have 100pc 1W 3000K diodes sittin here, so tonight, im going to make a light panel with them, and len them up and see how they do. I have a Fire OG seed sprout today, so i need a small light for this baby. The last time i put a sprout under this light, it cooked it, at 50 inches. or the coco was hot, IDK. didnt last 1 day.

most people use 80 or 90 degree optics. cobs are more or less 120 degrees so i dont use any optics
