Pearlite

Hi all,

Does anyone out there in Hydro grow land grow in 100% pearlite only ??

I now live in the U.K and are about to attempt my second grow in pearlite only.

I've plenty of experiance growing this way when i was growing back in Aus.

I'm using 400w HPS in a small roof/attic grow.
Any imput would be greatly needed.

I've grown 100% perlite and its proven to be one of the easiest grows i've ever had.

there you are again bonemon, your all over the place, i have to agree, my plite grow was hassle free, you will need to water more often, maybe mix in 10-20% vermiculite?

Thanks guy's for com'n back so quick. Boneman i have spoken with you before and you know what you talk'n about so thanks... I recon it's the only way to go because you can control your watering better, i mean you have less of a chance of over watering.

Did anyone find a differance in how much was yielded compared to say a soil or another kind of grow ?

i did a mini sog-lolipop style grow, it certainaly out performed a soil grow with same strain and pot size, what happens is the perlite allows more oxygen into the rootzone, aswell as not holdiong water as good as soil, the roots will be scavenging for water thus creating larger roots, larger, more oxygenated roots makes for happier bigger and good perofming plants, also nutrient deficiencies are as thing of the past as your controlling uptake from day 1, and you can use hydro nutrients, why dont you look up hempy buckets, yopu may be able to get better info and pix of peoples grows

Thanks mate very helpful again... I don't get why people grow in soil for everything you just you said and more. It's way cleaner as well.

I'll second The Hempy Bucket Method. I'm experimenting with some edibles and they're responding better then any potting soil grow I've done.
