I used a cardboard box with an air baffle system. I got the idea from searching on this site. I cut a large hole on each end of the box. The divide the inside of the box so air can pass through but not light.
I have a 6" fan and found passive air intake does not get enough air into the area. I am working on an active intake by adding a fan to the box.

The pull from your exhaust fan is going to create a negative suction in the room, by cutting a hole or passive intake, it allows cool air to be brought in using the exhaust fans power. If you have a 6 inch exhaust fan I would make at least a 4 inch hole for the passive intake

Passive intake just means that there is no fan blowing air into your grow area, just an exhaust fan blowing air out/SUCKING air in, as opposed to an active intake where you have a fan both on the intake vent and exhaust vent. This should be plenty of suction to draw air through your intake without putting a fan there. The exhaust fan should be toward the top of the grow area and the intake hole/fan should be near the bottom because cold air is more dense than hot air.
