Panda film on studs no backing

Looking at a 5x5 or 6x6 grow area. I was considering panda film over studs. Running 1000 hps . Thank you folks

I did panda (orca) over rigid foam. Its in my 2car garage.
Considered a stud build. This works.
Veg room.

I would insulate and plywood or fire proof drywall.Instal 6" vent hose top and bottom.Sealed for light leaks and stink.8x8 so you have a little room to move.

Ill add the growing part is easy,its controling the environment that needs some forthought.

Panda over studs wouldn't be my first choice, but panda film over a pvc frame was how I made my first grow tent. Then I went to studs with 1/4 plywood walls that I put the panda film onto.

If I had the money I would have gotten the orca film. Its got some really impressive results, and is heavier duty.

Doing drywall with white paint can have just as great of results too.

Don't accidentally lean on the wall. lol

I prefer the painted drywall myself.

All drywall is fireproof. Mold resistant green or blue board would be wise.

I haven't made it to a painted drywall room yet because I haven't owned any of the places I've lived and wanted my room easily removable. Each time I've set up another grow it has gotten more upgrades. I'm really hoping my next indoor grow will be in a house I'm buying so I can really set up right and dial everything in.

If possible you can try designing the chamber longer and less square, that way you can access the plants easier for watering. For instance, perhaps a 4 foot by 6 foot chamber instead of a square chamber, with a few access on both sides of the long parts

I have a 5x5 tent with only one access side and it sucks to reach the plants in the back
the 2x4 is so much easier lol

I would think a 6x6 would be very hard to reach the middle of with access on both sides idk. Just adding some input bro-- GL!.

look up floating walls it is a good way to not permanently frame things, by shimming them

You can build a free standing room with 2x3 build it just short enough to fit under a door frame so you can move it in and out in 4-5 pieces

You could buy a tent.

Thats what I did too...and drywall is considered to be a firebreak as well.

TBH thats what is likely called for here, a simple tent.

Not even close to the same and it's more expensive to buy a tent but sure you could do that. the room I built took about the same time to assemble as a tent once it was build of course and home Depot cut all the wood for me so no saw needed. That was actually my best setup I pulled 5 lb from 1 15a outlet I put up a divider wall so ran 2 12/12 sides on different schedules

Yeah that's totally the only feature that matters screw having an airtight room with no light leaks

FWIW my testing tent is in my veg room and light leaks haven't been a problem even with 1kW DE CMH outside the tent. As far as being 100% air tight, that's not really required. But hey if someone wants to build a box there is nothing wrong with that, it does end up taking up more space with the walls being thicker but that doesn't sound like an issue for the OP.

I am definitely against just stretching panda over studs personally, I just see someone carrying a bucket of water, losing balance and reaching out for a wall and their hand landing between two studs lol.

If choosing between panda and studs I say tent.
