I was Palin's #1 fan. Note the word "was".

She has no chance. Her behavior with Letterman was erratic and non-presidential. She "uses" publicity and the media too much. She seems to be taking advantage of her followers by abusing the media outlets that support her. She does far outweigh Obama and McCain, and if you would have switched teh tiocket to Palin/McCain, they would have won the election. People didn't vote "R" last year because of McCain. He represents all the probelms with gov't. Not to mention, he threw Palin under the bus after the election.

But Palin would have still roses to the top if the news cycle on Letterman if it came from a very quiet lawsuit against CBS filed in a small dark room somewhere. But she chose the path of publicity rather than law. Palin had me until she started the street fight with Letterman. Handled completely wrong, and to think her daughter was caught in the middle makes me sick.

Palin lost me, and just recently too. Her true colors are starting to show.

So you think the best way to create a robust marketplace of ideas is to insult the person speaking his mind? You think that we need people to attack others instead of their argument? You think volume trumps truth? Wow dude!

That officially makes no sense. It's one thing to respectfully disagree with someone and to engage in a quid pro quo. It's another to call them vulgar names time after time after time (which Vi does). In fact, making fun of the person instead of the ideas is a logical fallacy. It's called ad hominem, meaning against the man (attacking a man instead of his ideas). It is illogical and not allowed in formal argument or debate.

There is a right and a wrong way to do things. Insulting people and their beliefs is NOT the way to do things. I will honesly listen to someone that offers a perspective in an intelligent manner. As soon as that person starts with person attacks all respect for their position goes away. Just because you scream louder and more vulgarlly does not mean you are right. Stand up for your beliefs while maintaining integrity.


I do get what you are trying to say tho. If you really believe in something you need to stand up and shout it from the roof tops. Just don't name call if people do not agree with you. The difference of opinion IS the American way. It is that quality that makes this nation great even today in these troubling times....

I can define ad hominem. I can also tell you it's etymological Latin root. I can define all the other logical fallacies for you as well. So your guarantee is not worth much, my friend.

I am lecturing you because you need it. And I do get an education - every day I strive to learn more. I work around scholars all day and learn from them. I teach for a living - so it's a give and take. I teach them and they teach me. So telling me to get an education is like telling me to breath. I do it often and without conscious direction.

And BTW - in my professional opinion, you're pathetic.
