pale plants

I have a 600 hps digital and my new plants are going pale.Is too much light to soon a possibility?I never had this problem with my 400 mh.

very pale yellow or nearly white leaves near the lights would indicate heat bleaching. the same symptom on the bottom leaves could be sulfur deficiency (but more likely to be something else).
