paint for reflectivity

i heard some post saying flat white paint is alright, but after looking up how well paint reflects it says flat white isn't the best.
i am asking if a low-luster bone white paint would be better (already had some) since it says it has higher reflectivity than flat but still lower than a gloss type?

naw its all good.. just curious cuz like to use stuff i already have than buy new. thinking about it though im guessing higher reflective surfaces are better so long they not wrinkled.

not all white is white. OP has done some homework. if i were him i'd stick with what i was taught elsewhere.

go with the bone.

a flat pure white is the most reflective. anything with gloss has clear in it. light loses reflectivity when passing thru clear. gloss is NOT as reflective as flat. there are NUMEROUS "shades" of white. some much more reflective than others. take the time and do it properly for best results.

The best paint to use is flat pure white not gloss, not semi gloss, flat. And pure white, not eggshell or any of the million other whites. If you get the right stuff you are very near mylar if you use the wrong paint you might as well not paint at all. The gloss content in anything but flat paint wastes light as if you had a layer of dirty glass on top of your walls that the light has to pass through twice to reflect back not reflects more. The wrong color of white just a little will completely alter the spectrum of light reflected back and reduce it's effectiveness dramatically.

White is NOT WHITE there is a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!!!

hm thanks for in depth info. was hoping it would be better since the low luster was easy to find in a mess of the garage. sure got some flat white was just hoping to avoid digging through potential spider hiding spots.
