I have a 6 inch cool tube with a 600 watt Digilux and Nextgen Ballast in a 48" X 48" by 6.5ft tent, cooled with a 6" Vortex. The fixture is really long, like 29 inches so the light is way off to the side. I got it for cheap, and now I am thinking of upgrading. Its so long, I have it on an angle in the tent, so the ducting will fit. One side of the tent is getting much more light then the other. I switch the plants around, but obviously they would appreciate a more evenly distributed light.
The Radiant 6" air cooled hood will run about $125 delivered from ebay.
The Blockbuster 6" will be about $175 delivered.
I considered a Growzilla, since I have an extra ballast, but am worried about the heat from two 600's. Though a heat shield is available for this one. I don't really need a ton of medicine. I don't want it to ever leave my house. I do want nice quality that I can be proud of, cool temps, and cost efficiency.
The interior of the Blockbuster is that dimpled metal, and the interior of the Radiant is smooth metal.
What would be a better hood in my setup, they both claim to be good for my size tent? I do appreciate the money savings, but in the end, at least in theory, a better reflector should produce a little more medicine, if i'm not mistaken.
I like the fact that both have heat shields available for them, but the Radiant shield is about $20 cheaper.
Thanks for your help, in advance, and no I am not interested in a 1000 watt setup.
