ive been told im overwatering my plant, and that may be the reason its leaves are drooping,

there is forecast rain in about 2 days time and i dont no if the plant will have recoverd......so is there any ways of preventing the soil gettin wet, like puting a plastic bag over it or sumfin, has anyoone had this problem and discovered a solution?

Sure you can use plastic tarp or sumfin to cover the ground before it rains, but remove it later so the ground can breath. is the soil waterlogged? If you picked up a handful and squeezed it would water pour out? I ask because I suspect the soil quality more than over watering.
