I hung my trimmed buds (still on stems) on kite string clotheslines in a closed, dark tent with good ventilation but no air blowing directly on the plants right after cutting them down. RH in the tent was a steady 50%, temp 80F to 85F. After about 5 days, the stems were bending with a slight "crackle" but not breaking, so I cut the buds from the stems and popped them into sealed mason jars, with a Caliber III in one to monitor. Rh climbed from 51% to 55% after a few days, but that's it. The buds are still very crispy to the touch.
I'm afraid I've lost some market weight from over drying and also created a perception that the product is too dry. I have a long-time smoker "quality control" guy who says the product is 5-star quality and a smooth smoke, but I'm concerned about the crispy aspect.
On top of that, the buds fox-tailed just prior to harvest, making things even more airy and dry.
Is there anything I can do to restore that non-crispy cured quality to my bud? Help, puhleeze! I'm a noob and this is my very first harvest.
