My Dry Cure Harvest Method

  1. Harvest plants when ready
  2. Chop branches into a length you can comfortably pluck the fan leaves off
  3. Pluck all non-sugar leaves off the branches then hang on clothes hanger
  4. Hang clothes hanger in a dark room/tent/closet at 60-65 °F | 60-65% RH
  5. Have a ventilation fan or some form of fan to move air in the space but not directly blow onto the branches. Passive airflow is key. (e.g tent exhaust with carbon scrubber on low to gently exchange air in the tent)
  6. Usually 12-14 days later the buds will be crispy and dry enough to trim
  7. Trim buds, remove excess stem and put into a sealed container
  8. Open the sealed container once a day for 10-20 mins and move buds around gently to aerate everything with fresh air.

The key is to allow the buds to dry slowly but also not stagnate. You do not want any direct airflow hitting the plants when hanging either, make sure its indirect airflow.

When I trim the buds is once the stems snap when bent, that usually takes 10-14 days of hang time before they are ready. Some may opt to not do the next step but just prior to trimming I will shock my curing tent to 40% humidity for 1 hour then use a Bag Trimmer to trim the buds, what this does is dries the outer leaves to where they break off very easily, final touch up with scissors and viola.
