Oven purge experiment

I heard somewhere that you could make honeycomb oil with a hot water bath somehow purging it in the oven and then whipping it on low heat on the stove. Has anyone heard of this before? Or have anything helpful towards the subject?

yes it doesnt really work that well because whipping breaks down terpenes and whips air bubbles into it, try winterizing it, that will get out the butane and the fats waxes and lipids left in the hash

What is winterizing? And do you know how this is done?

winterizing is when you take your bho and dissolve it in ever clear 95% alcohol or better, and put in the freezer for 24 to 48 hours. then filter it on to a pyrex dish and place on a griddle at low heat 110 degrees with a light fan blowing over it. after a few hours all the alcohol will evaporate off you might have to leave it over night. i will place mine into my vac chamber and purge it some more. but you can effectively remove all of the solvents this way, it might take some time but it can be done. it is alot cleaner because it actually will pull out the fats waxes and lipids that the butane grabs.

Ok thanks for the info, but I'm looking to utilize butane cause its the cleanest solvent, does anyone know how you would do an oven purge? Temp, how long etc

not sure i would look into spending 300 on a vacpurge setup and make shit that will make your friends jealous

We make shatter in under an hour, in thin films at -29.5" Hg and 115F, using a vacuum oven. We watch the bubbles, rather than go for a specific time.

For a easy way to” oven purge”...

Thin film is key here.

Toaster oven dedicated to purging oil only (20$)..you don't want your oil absorbing the food remnants.
The great thing about toaster ovens is the fact that they are capable of holding temps below 150° F

They also provide even heat distribution (top and bottom heat source)

When I was using the toaster oven tech, Usually stick temp to 120° For 1 hour per gram of oil.

Occasionally use a heat gun to pop bubbles from top, hair dryer will work also.

i put my pyrex ontop of a pot of almost boiling water, was near completely purged in less than hour. it was only a gram but no vacuum, like fade said just watch the bubbles.

That's all I want to do!!!! I cannot achieve wax for some reason. Just blew 60 gram nug and 10 gram shake and it's now in the vac chamber. Trying to play around with the temps and see what happens. Twitch, how long does it take you to get wax from start to finish in the vac chamber? Please advise. Thanks and best regards.
