(Outdoor) When does flowering actually begin from pre flowering?

I have lots of little white pistils all over, but not a noticeable amount on the tops. Is it considered flowering, or pre flowering still? I am in ohio. Thanks!

Mine went about 3-4 weeks outdoor before they started to show some bud build-up. You will notice a difference when it goes into flowering no doubt. Sounds like its at preflower. Not sure about your area since I'm in CA.

I think I remember last year that it is not in true flowering until like you said, the build up. I remember I went to them one day and there were pistils on top, and I was expecting actual bud. I was happy when I found out they were flowering. 2 weeks in too. Ahhh, last year.

I've always considered the forming of a few pistils as preflower. Couple weeks later they start poppin like fireworks.
