you can definatley top them and should. as far as how many times , thats entirely up to you and how far you want to push your plants.

thanks dude im definately gonna top them :) but i have a question that im confused about and im prolly over thinking it but whats the difference in keeping a plant inside with the lights on all the time and having the plant outside where the lights are only on half the time???

No man made light can compete with the sun. Some people leave the lights on 24/0 during early development. Most people use the light on for 18 hours and off 6 for veg and 12/12 for flowering. You can't beat the great outdoors for growing.

I have topped as many as five times on one plant just make sure you have enough room between plants it ended up swallowing two plants on either side

If you cant use chicken wire use pin wheels and a very small wire tie ir zip tie kinda like a card in bike spokes noise keeps animals away but only works if breezy
