Definitely gonna need to pick up some more light. 3 or 4 100w Equivalent Daylight CFLs would work great if you're wanting to use CFLs.

Ok I have been doing alot of reading, on cfl lighs, and I called AG and talk to some dude about the lights on the AG and read the forms here, ok what i got is 26w 1560 lumens thats 1560x3= 4680 lumens in the AG, and add a 25 cfl is at 1664 lumens so 6344 lumens on 18/6. Q? when it's time to bloom can i just us the AG light's? for the 12/12

Just get three 100 W equivalent daylight bulbs for the vegging + your AG lights...and when you want to flower, switch the bulbs out for warm bulbs. and keep the aerogarden lights goin. More lights the better, but that should be good.

Yea man they will triple in size during flowering, so just calculate that into mow much room you have, but its better to get some extra CFL's, the AG lights are good, but you need more to be efficient for marijuana

Yeah dude, you really cant go wrong with a bunch of supplemental CFLs in there, as long as its not raising the temperature too much. The more the better, really. And no, definitely don't use just the AG lights during the flowering stage. Those bulbs are all daylight spectrum, probably 6500k, which is perfect for veg but not what you want for flowering. When the times comes for bloom you'll just want to swap out all the additional CFLs from daylight spec to a soft white, around 2700k or so. Since you can't change out the AG lights for soft white, just let them roll and let the other CFLs provide the good flowering light. OK, I'm basically just repeating nukkchoris at this point :) . PEACE

haha thank you thank you... is it really bad to run your AG lights? I have mine going and all the other lights are warm. I havn't seen any problems so far.

Wow I've never come across anything like that CFL fixture from stealth hydro before. Its neat, but seems way overpriced at $200. Probably why the wife said no, eh? Those other bulbs should do the trick just fine. Also, check this out if you havent already bought your new bulbs. I'll probably be picking up that t5 fixture for my next grow.

No, its fine to leave the AG lights on in addition to your flowering lights. Thats what I was trying to say in that last post, but I was pretty baked :eyesmoke:.

Lumens don't add in a sense that 1 light + 1 light equals twice the brightness. Only the amount of light that is being put into the grow area increases (i.e. photons). Therefore, a 1560 lumen light x 3, will not equal 4680 lumens. So, adding more CFL's is beneficial to the grow, but only to a certain point.

Also, the AG lights are full spectrum, so they will be good for all periods of growing (They definitely need supplementation, though).

good read,

change the water in the res tank did a pre mix of nutrients in water jug but the water was cold not room temp let it set for 3 days, and clean it out not bad some agel in it, take ot te lil long white thing in the AG don;t know wtf it was for ,thay all got roots now the lil one that did not haveroots is showing small roots so in 3 dayz there be about 1/8 long.
the clones are truning yellow on the leaves, i hear that happen when u use AG nuts, I can't do a ph reading yet dont have a real tester for the ph in the water i know it needs be around 5.5-6.5 but can't tell yet, gone to add more pics latter to day.

Yeah man you'll wanna get on top of that PH meter ASAP. Not many other things more important than balancing the PH when you're growing in hydro. If you've got a hydroponics store where you live they'll have a simple PH up/down kit with test solution for like $15-$20. Better to snag a cheapo now than wait to buy a nice digi or something only to find out you waited too long. If the PH is too far off your plants may be absorbing literally no nutrients at all.
