Outdoor Tips

Hey,
I am growing outdoors in Texas, four bagseed plants started about a week ago. they are around 1-2" tall and look healthy for sprouts. They were started in-ground and then transplanted to medium-sized pots (with little root damage) yesterday. The soil is a mix of Miracle-Gro potting soil, earthworm castings and the original "in-ground" dirt (mainly around the root base.)

If anyone has any suggestions, tips or criticism about the way I am growing or what I am using I'd love to hear it.

the MG soil can ster you wrong with marijuana....you cant flush the plant for the last 2 weeks of growth and get all the shit out before smoking......bcuz every time you water the polymer crystals release chemical nutrients, and you want nothing other than MJ when you harvest. i personaly just use 1/1/1 peatmoss/perlite/vermiculite and water with MG all-purpose/ ultra+superbloom.

other than that she sounds good. Good luck and Happy harvest.

wken/if you transplant into bigger pots or the ground place the plant a bit deeper so the soil is level with is 1st set of leaves or branches and add some rootblast for rapid root growth to help you get a bigger plant

I'll try to dig up the post on the side by side some dude did using just MG soil, no feeding through the entire cycle in one plant, and one where he did all fox farm, fed at proper intervals, and did the flush etc at the end on one plant of the same strain. I do remember he ended up with a LOT more bud from the Miracle grow potting soil one, and reported that it was no more harsh or less tasty at the end. All in all I think your grow is decent. I've seen people do just terrible things with their plants and still grow em decently big. Your only issue is that you started a bit late, and you wont have very large plants by harvest time.

edit: found that side by side:

If you are going to move them to a secluded location, do not until they are large enough to not be bothered by deer. I moved my 7" plant to a secluded location yesterday and when I just went to check on it today a deer ate the entire top off. The deer actually topped the plant perfectly but its way to late to even expect it yield anything now.

BIG issue, heat stress. If you're using black plastic nursery pots, or any pot that allows the rootball to heat up, you will need to control that. Mulch, wrapping or double-potting are some means by which to control heat. Other methods may include putting lattice or something else to create a "light shade" situation, which the plant seems to tolerate just fine, better than its roots getting too hot at least!

i already put a shitload of fishing line up, thanks for the heads up though. and as far as heat it's in a brown ceramic pot, pretty basic, but i will mulch it tomorrow. thanks.

yes i am also in texas and i had a plant outside which is all ready flowering so starting a plant now wont do much this just means you have more time getting prepared for the next season
