The middle of May is always safe for planting in Ohio. Don't expect to see any harvest until late Oct first of Nov.

Ive been growing outdoor for the past 8 years in ohio, and as long as you have a decent strain that is bred for outdoors youll be fine. i usually use the quicker finishing plants, put them out mid may, and have a harvest by croptober! pm me if you want any more details or know how on some good seeds round here

I live in Ohio too, southern. I had a small crop in the woods last year and dear got them twice. Fucked me real good. That was sortave early though.
I heard that ohios growing season was 4 months. i thought 6 but also they said indica take longer too flower so you need sativa for these areas. Is this true, and if so how do you know if the seeds you have stashed are either one?maybe im just over thinking things out.dont no

That sucks to hear about the dear, they are definatly a force to be reckoned with. I use powdered blood. It seems to keep them at bay, but when my plants are little i still keeps a chicken wire fence around them. You can put an indica strain out in ohio, i would just recommend starting it indoors first before the season starts. Then ween it to being used to the outside weather for a few hours a day. WHen you do this and start from seed instead of clone you can get some really killer plants in the fall. Yes, you have to deal praying for females, but you get killer growth when grown from seed, almost 25% more. So really just do you research and get a good outdoor strain, and just look into what type of tlc the plant needs. I really like hollands hope. The strain gets very bushy and tall. Which can lead to a pound a plant. :blsmoke:

Buying seeds online can be bad news especially if there from Netherlands. Customs check everything shipping out. I know seeds on the net can cost alot for like 10 or so. Which is why i have been saving seeds from my QP;s. Whats wrong with using these. Are they Indica or Sativa- Does it matter?

You'll know whether they're indica or sativa when u plant them.....as long as u take out males....9/10 u'll end up with dank ass buds

chuq, I don't know what you're talking bout, but sativas are s'posed to take longer, and if you're using bagseed i don't think it really matter, if it's indica or sativa. If they aren't ready for harvest before the first frost, just say fuck it, and pick the buds anyway, not like you paid for the seeds. and how many seeds do you ussually get in a QP

Yea people really overlook bagseed. You can get some really dank buds from bag seed. It all just depends on gettin all the males out, and giving your babies alot of tlc!

well, if you think about it, the only problem with bagseed is you don't know what you're getting. it probably has relatively good genetics. think about it. most people that grow weed to sell it are trying to grow alot of good bud. why would they keep a plant that didn't have those traits.

I'm a beginner grower and I am going to use nothing but bagseed. that I have saved for many years. just been waiting to get a house. So for my first grows I'll do nothing but bagseed and see what magic I can grow. :joint:

hey weedman11 i live in north central ohio and my outdoors are gettting frosted in the morning. will this hurt them bad. the fan leaves are sagging since its been frosting for about 5 days now. are sativa's long skinny leaves or is that indica. what ever i have (mostly bag seed) a few strawberry cough clones . but most of them have long skinny leaves rather than broad leaves like the strawberry does. from what ive been reading indicas is what i should do for my outdoor. this is only my 2nd time outdoor i have expermented more indoor but dont have the room rt now. thanks :peace:

Start them inside. When you see your neighbors planting their tomatoes you can then move them outside. simple.. outside flowering is not going to start until late August early September depending on the strain.. Your at the mercy of the planet, sun and moon. TIP---collect rain water. Best water to use. Put a rubbermaid bin in the back of your house and attached it to your rain gutter. Everytime it rains you will have a fresh supply of naturally ph balanced water.

correct about sativas. They take to long to finish outside. The frost will catch you before there done.
