DOES THE PHASE OF THE MOON REALLY MATTER?

When planting outdoors, fishing, or hunting, the moon will be your best comrade. Always plant on the NEW moon and up past the first quarter. This goes for transplanting as well. A handy book for the GG is the old farmers Almanac, I never plant without one.

The increase of the Moon when transplanting/ planting seeds has a gravitational pull that just affects every living thing, even you. I?m not gonna get into this subject as it just seems to go the wrong way. Just believe that its TRUTH. The answer is YES... Survival rate, and ending yields are much better.

DEER.

Deer like to have a SAFE zone and are also VERY smart. You will see many posts about hair, urine etc.. This all works until the Deer becomes wise to your ways, and they will! Deer are constantly hunted by dogs. Deer know just when its hunting season and throwing pee, hair etc.. will not fool them long.

The absolute best animal control if one can get it is: Tiger, cougar, lion crap . It does not take much. Sun dry and put it in little pouches, {ends of old socks} then hang these little pouches in and around grow area low in the surrounding brush. Look for the deer rub, as shown in picture. Now you start peeing on THAT tree!!!! Or take you a nice DUMP right by it, and plant your MJ close to it.

That buck rub in picture is where I like to take a pee, and then I plant MJ there in "his" territory. Doe are not going to be hanging there, only other Buck looking for a fight and are not worrying about EATING. So I guess the Moral to the story is... Deer are smart indeed, but ?man? is the master that will figure out how to exist and cultivate right in their back yard with the "buck" actually watching over the MJ. It?s crazy but it works for me.

MOLD/ BUD ROT & WORMS.

Most of the problems I have are with bud worms and mold. Well these worms help cause mold and rot. The worms not only eat the buds but they crap on them as well. So ya gotta find them turds to find the worm. The mold can be cut way back by giving the plants a good shaking in the morning dew. This is what the bug crap mixes with to cause the damage.

Butterfly turds are much like the worm turds. The smaller brown/white moths that fly thick in the swamp was at one time the little bud eating worm that devastate MJ by eating and craping down deep in the flowers. It?s not uncommon for several different kinds of butterfly's to land on growing MJ in one days time.
All this stuff will contribute to BUD ROT.

When you see ANY mold/bud rot, cut it off ASAP, sometimes you may have to remove the entire branch. If you do not cut it away, you could run the risk of it spreading. A lot of rain and HOT days will also cause mold/ rot. It is GOOD to thoroughly shake rain/ dew off MJ whenever possible if flowering.

Burning objects near your plants is BAD.. any oblects.. weed, cigarrets, camp fires...

Burning sulphur near reservoirs that use supplemental oxygen provided by aquarium pumps will severly lower your pH and cause damage to your plants.

If you want to see the tar that goes into your lungs, look at the aquarium tubing after you smoke near the PUMPS....

You say you want something new, I got it.

Build a greenhouse. You say you've grown everywhere? oh my!

Well aside from marijuana, I am quite the skilled grower of any nursery flower and vegetable. But greenhouses man are they neat.

If you have the space this is what you do. Allowing you to even grow in the winter.

1. Purchase a tiller, and till two small plots. For the plants sake, let's give um 3' x 3' areas on the ground, so till accordingly.
2.Now from one of the plots remove the freshly tilled soil and place it on top of the other plot, thusly adding a second layer of soil.
3.Next, surround the area with cinder blocks. The soil should be flush with the cinder block, height wise and all. Next you need some lumber and 6 mill plastic.

Ever make a greenhouse before? Wanna learn?

Okay here's how.
4.Those cinder blocks you laid down earlier to surround the dirt plot you have now serve another purpose, to hold your posts. You can either cement them into the ground or just purchase very heavy wood. The easiest way I can think of is to place a 4x4 on each corner upright. Next get a friend and a ladder, you then take smaller pieces of wood and connect all four posts along the top.

5.The 6 mil plastic is hardest to put on. You need some skinnier strips of wood though this time. You place the 6 mill plastic where you want it and instead of stapling it to your 4x4s, you screw the skinnier pieces onto the 4x4s thus providing a vice like system to hold the plastic on without tearing it where there are staples or screws.

Take note, you'll need to leave one side open, like a little plastic swing flap, so you can walk in and out.

Also, the top layer of dirt should be AT LEAST 6 inches above the regular soil level. If you want to use this method in the winter then you may make it even higher. Greenhouses aren't exactly common but they aren't unsightly. So as long as you are private about it your neighbors won't really care if you grow vegetables in your little tent : )

How can I hide plants in the backyard?
bend your plants and grow near other randomly shaped stuff, honeysuckle, blackberry, privet. let them fade into their surroundings.

place them in an area that does NOT bring your eye to it. this is really design philosophy, but, avoid convergent lines and points of interest (sidewalks, fences, yard ornaments, etc.) that lead to or intersect your plants, stuff like that..

people will walk right by.
