Outdoor grow with ICE + NYPD

I have a journal on this already but I haven't had the time to keep up with it so now I am redoing it now that I will have a good amount of free time and a steady schedule.

First off, I started this grow with seeds from nirvana: ICE, NYPD and some freebies they gave me
I planted 2 of each in old FFOF and had 1 ICE, both NYPD, and both freebies sprout but one reg got ripped out of the dirt by a squirrel or something.

So from the start i was having some issues with bugs and environment that caused things to continue on slowly for a couple weeks and there isnt much going on.

Reg 4-19.jpg Reg4-19.jpg Freebie at day 28. Something happened to the main shoot and basically started out at both branches that come out at the very first node so she took a good while to pick up but is now doing the best

Things started getting close to transplant time so I went and got some FFOF and Happy Frog for a 50/50 mix. I added a little bit of the Happy frog bone meal and the Happy frog all purpose fertilizer with a 5-5-5 ratio which ended up being way too much and gave me toxicity problems shortly after transplant.

Reg5_10.jpg 2Reg5_10.jpg Here is the freebie at day 48 after transplant. I had clipped the two shoots off and started training pretty hard. The Nitrogen excess was really showing with the clawed leaves around this time. I took a clone from the main shoot and just put it in a mason jar in my room with a hole in the top and I see a little tiny root starting today (5-15)

NYPD5_10.jpg 2NYPD5_10.jpg Both NYPD at day 48 after transplant. One NYPD got bad heat stress after the temps got into the high 90s outside but all the others were showing no signs of heat stress so im thinking shes just a little weaker than the rest.

ICE5_10.jpg 2ICE5_10.jpg ICE at day 48. I topped her and am experimenting with LST from a thread on here about "Mainlining" as he called it to get an extremely even canopy. She is definately responding really well to it

So i am currently 54 days in, which is pretty old for such small plants but i started them outside early and they had some problems but are now recovered and the daylight hours are much better so they are all starting to take off. The freebie I am running is barely starting to poke out preflowers and i think it is a male plant but i am going to keep it growing to juice for health benefits.

One NYPD is really starting to kick off with very health growth while the other is a little worst off and still recovering a little bit from heat and transplant stress. I am going to start training them when they get a bigger and are more easily manageable. There will be a lot of experimenting with different training methods in this grow.

The ICE is definitely doing the best as far as tolerance to bugs and heat goes. Like i said i will be "Mainlining" her to get a very even canopy and will be shooting for 8 - 16 tops total. Now that I am caught up with the grow, the updates will be more often and show things a little more detailed as they happen.

ice devil 5_15.jpg ICE1 5_15.jpg ICE2 5_15.jpg Here is the ICE yesterday at day 54 with my solar powered devil protecting its lettuce. The two lower branches in the third pic are the ones i will use as clones once they get a bit bigger. I dont want any branches come from anywhere besides the main "hub" so everything stays perfectly identical the whole time

NYPD1 5_15.jpg NYPD 5_15.jpgNYPD2 5_15.jpg Here are both NYPD at day 54. The one on the right is the one who had the heat issues.

reg 5_15.jpg reg2 5_15.jpg Last but not least, the freebie at day 54 .

It always feels slow going at first with young plants, but then they hit their stride and explode with growth. I bet they've just been focusing on filling those pots with roots. How much sun are you getting? It might help to move them around through the day to get the most sun.

They are getting around 8 hours of direct sun. I do move them around on the days that i can. Its also been some pretty crappy weather lately but things are definitely starting to pick up and I am excited to see some more growth. This has been pretty slow.. Its almost two months in and they arent even a foot tall yet haha.

Things have picked up tremendously and only a week has gone by since my last post, yet the plants have doubled in size except for the one NYPD that just has been having problems from the start, which i wont be posting about unless things pick up for her. All of the plants have been sexed and i cant wait for these next two months to go by and get the flowering started.

ice5-24.jpg icee5-24.jpg ICE at day 62. Her training is going really well and she is branching out really heavily. I am only going to tie down for a couple more weeks then i will just let her grow and top as needed to keep the canopy as even as possible

freebie5-24.jpg freebiee5-24.jpg Freebie at day 62. She is turning into a bush and I am just going to trim as she grows and keep things clean and I might throw a scrog screen on her soon.

nypd5-24.jpg Nypd5--24.jpg NYPD at day 62. She has taken off the most out of all of them but i havent been training or anything, i will top her once she gets a couple feet tall but other than that i want to keep her growing more naturally. She has grown almost 6 inches in a week and the leaves are starting to get huge! There is preflowers growing out of the stems on some of the leaves so that will be interesting to see what happens during flower.

Has anyone had much experience with ICE? ive looked for some grows but havent found much, I am interested in checking out some other grows with this strain
