Outdoor Grow Conditions

Yo guys and dolls. Long time smoker, first time grower with a few questions.

I'm looking to plant a crop of Indica for harvest late August/September. My locale is California with plenty of sun but the summer months can reach upwards of 110 during the day. I live in the 'Burbs but my backyard is surrounded by trees and a 6ft concrete wall around the house perimeter. Those are the givens, now here are the ?'s:

1) Is there a particular water and light cycle experienced growers can prescribe for these harsher conditions?

2) I intend to use 3-5 gallon wooden pots, is there an expectation on how tall I can expect these plants to grow? I'm hoping for nothing taller than 4-6' as to arouse suspicion.

3) With one or two plants, will they stink to high heaven (hehe) or will the smell be manageable? I know mother nature does its thang but can I somehow manage the smell?

Thanks in advance for info and I look forward to sharin' pics of my babies soon!

Well when you're outdoors, light cycle doesn't really matter as much. As for water, just water them every few days or so. If it gets really hot, then maybe everyday. I live in the south east, so we harsh conditions for our baby girlies too.

Keep a good layer of compost around the base of the plants. This will maintain a better & longer balance of moisture. Good drainage, water when it's dry 2" inches below the surface.
