Outdoor Grow - Bud Rot + Mildew on Leaves

I harvested a couple plants early because I saw signs of bud rot and mildew. I have a few more plants outside and want to let them grow to maturity. Is there any precaution I could take to make them more resilient, and if I do see signs of bud rot / mildew is that an immediate sign to harvest ASAP and salvage the plants?

Need advice, thanks!

I would do some defoliating if they are indicas. Try to get some airflow to those buds. This was a moldy year in my neighborhood. If I had known I would have defoliated and opened the buds and handled them a little to let air to the inside of the big colas.

Sounds like you are in the pacific northwest. Bad year this one. And you are growing indica. Why not tie your arm behind your back? Making things difficult for yourself.

I'm growing an unknown sativa dominant strain. The weather should be lots of rain and overcast over the coming days with very high humidity. I assume the plants need to grow another 2-3 weeks.

Is it safe to defoliate this late into flowering (almost 6 weeks in)? Should I take off all the largest fan leaves?

I'm having some issues with the plants other than mildew / bud rot, the leaves feel dry and stiff and have what look like light burn?

Also about 10 of these little buggers are on my plants:

Are they causing that damage?

Those are leafhoppers.
They suck out the sap from the leaves and you can see white spots turning brown mostly appearing in clusters.
You could try neem oil or ladybugs to get rid of them.
