Outdoor Flowering

So, I am curious to know when to begin counting flowering days? Is it June 21st or is it when each plant starts popping pistils?

when I force flower it takes a week to start showing. just throwing that out there:)
I put mine out day after summer and then eventually decided to force flower at the end of july

I have a few clones and on from (mystery seed). The mystery seed started showing pistils only about 4 weeks ago and a Chemdawg 4 clone started showing pistils about 2 weeks ago. Really trying to get a good estimate as to when to pull em.

Its sooo hard to tell, they do what they want. My sativas are coming along faster this year then the others. They didnt do that last year. IM thinking flowering naturally started late this year. Id go with 6-8 wks . Sure sign they are done is the buds swell up and the red hairs appear to sink into the buds. Also if the sun hits it right you can see the trics clear, cloudy or amber if you have a sharp eye

So you mean 6-8 weeks after physical signs of flower. i.e. pistil poppin? I'm gonna get a small scope for the trichs. Still mostly thick white pistils everywhere on all my girls. Once the trichs start turning milky, should I flush em for a week then chop em? Not sure of the flushing thing since I am using pre-loaded nutes.

your preloaded nutes will be all used up by then. if youre getting a scope, wait for 5-10% amber on the trics. I meant 6-8 wks from what you have there. 8-10wks normally after pistils pippin ;)lol

I actually just topped of my smart fabric pots with about 2-3 inches worth of new loaded soil combo of Fox Farm Ocean Forest and VermiFire...

Estimate 8-10 weeks after you saw the first "flowers". That should put you in the ballpark. If this is an outdoor grow, and judging by your avatar, you look to be close geographically. For example, I saw flowering around August 1st. So my plants should finish around the first 2 weeks of October, or so. Don't plan to be away on vacation around that time....lol :eyesmoke: Can't really get much more accurate, cuz they'll be done when they are done. :bigjoint: And if you don't know the genetics, you'll really have no clue other than to judge for yourself when it's "choppin' time" :leaf: Get one of those cheap 40X microscopes and keep an eye on the trichome color. Mostly cloudy with some amber is just about right :weed:

Good Luck :peace:

Thanks! Yeah, I I only have one mystery strain and it was the only one from seed. It's been the strongest of all the girls I have going, but it was basically the last to start showing.. I don't plan on going anywhere in Oct. Was gonna head to Denver to see my Broncos host the Santa Clara Gold Miners but decided otherwise.. Saving money for a house takes sacrifice.
