First off 18/6 is veg lighting schedule, 12/12 is flowering. but yes you could go 18/6 veg switch to 12/12 to sex then as soon as you see the sex revert them back but...... it would be much easier and better to grow 3 or 4 good healthy plants take a cutting from each of them sex the cuttings keep the females toss the males if any... take more cuttings from the plant you know is female then use those new clones outside.. and then in fall you will have flowered clones. now would be the time to start them then you would have your clones ready to go come spring/summer time depending how big you want them and your weather conditions:blsmoke:

hey bow,

yes u can do it, i am in aus to and am doing exactly the same thing as you are wanting to do.

if u put them onto 18/6 they will go bak into veg and will grow, then when u drop em outside in a few weeks if its around 12/12 (which it will be) they will flower again.

you might want to take into consideration the length of time it will take for ur clones to mature, how long did the mother monsters take to flower? cos you would expect ur clones to take around the same amount of time even if theyr much smaller. due to this i would be a little worried about veggin them inside for too long before u drop em back outside due to winter and the weather gettin to shitty and ur buds not having enough time to mature. having said that, if u have a hps it wouldnt really be an issue.

thanks for the reply mate, i see you understood what i was asking, you answered every thing i was sort of trying to ask.... at the moment i am putting my clones under 18-6 for another month just to get more size to them, can i put these outside for the day and just before sun goes down bring them in and put them under my hps 400w for the rest of the day so they receive 18-6 still? will two different light sources during the 18 hours on effect clones in a good or bad way, sorry if i am confusing.

Go ahead-I switch plants from outside to in, re-veg, clone buds and put plants outside when temps/sunlight are fine and then put them back under lights again. Re-vegging takes time and patience is all. Where it is possible, I think plants benefit massively from natural light.

thanks for your reply psyclone, you answered all i was not sure about. i did take these clones before the other plants started budding, i grew the mother plants in garden shed and tarped roof 6-6 every night, 'still one monster to harvest'. i had the clones under a cheap clf and decided to put them outside for the natural sunlight and this is what triggerd flowering as it is that time in Aus, they have only been in this mode for about 10 days so hopefully it will revert back quickly, thanks for your help people.
