out breeding IBL mothers

Im by no means a breeder but thought a topic I brought up in another thread could be best answered here.

Once upon a time I was growing seedsman original skunk #1 (an ibl; true breeding strain"

I noticed after dry/cure THAT I had about 5 beans attached to the plant.

I can't remember if I grew it with white widow plants or one of the times I grew 8 plants, 8 different strains.

My question is how likely are the offspring collected from the os#1 to be worth anything? When an ibl is crossed (accidentally in my case) with another strain what generally can be expected from that meshing of gene pools?

What about an ibl crossed with a completely different ibl strain?

I know crossing two random strains results in F1's and I'm sure it's the same here but I'm curious if the fact that one strain is ibl if the offspring should show more stability than traditional f1's or more likely that its likely to be a sickly mutated hermie mess?

Update. I found part of an old water/feeding log and the original skunk was grown alongside Acapulco gold, critical+ from dinafem, strawberry cough, sensi star, and kings kush.

Any thoughts now ?

If it got knocked up by the Acapulco gold or critical + im thinking it could be interesting

As long as that IBL was fire, I dont see why you wouldn't get something decent... even if it was fathered by that kings kush. If you're really worried about it, just order up some new beans. There's USA seed banks now that are cheaper/faster/more reliable because you don't have to go through customs. Then you could make a proper cross if you wanted... or not.

I say no to the kings kush cuz the one I had was a runt but I didn't kill it like I should've. Instead I decided to let it go because I without it I would've had an empty space in flowering

The taste n smell was horrible even though I stopped feeding 2 weeks before the chop. It was like licorice (not in a good way), paint thinner and peppery all at once . Very strong gross taste

No not yet. My grow space is a bit more limited these days than when I had a separate veg and flower room and I was running 3k+ watts just in lights lol

Now I have a 600w for flower. A t5 for veg. I have some old 600w units and a 150w hps collecting dust though.
