Ouija Boards

Views, opinions, anything about them.. I've been curious about ouija boards for years now and I kind of want to try a seance, even with all these horror stories of people getting scared shitless and stalked by spirits from ouija boards.

I've tried it a few times, it worked most times but that doesnt mean I believe in spooks, its just people moving it without realising simply because they think it will work

nothing good can come from a ouija board. yes they work. yes you communicate with real spirits. yes they lie to you. i had one, i played around with it when i was younger, and it was stupid. i wont touch them now, if you want to do a seance, well, i guess i can describe my method of doing them, which may be very different than someone elses methods because i am a pagan, but heres how i do them. Draw a pentagram on the ground, in the middle of the circle of people involved, light candles, place 1 candle at each of the points of the star. The points represent the elements, earth air fire water and spirit. Start off by the protection part of the ritual, everyone has to visualize themselves covered in a protective white light. then the light has to expand to touch everyone elses white light and eventually cover the whole circle. then when u start the seance, you want to make sure that you explain to the spirits that all u want is to communicate with them, that you have absolute respect for them, and will greatly appreciate any contact. then ask away...and at the end of the seance, make sure to thank the spirits you spoke to. but yea...thats pretty much how i do them...hope it helps!

I had one of those parker brothers ones... I always found it strange how it never worked when I tried to by myself .... hmmmmmmm....

I believe in entities, but I don't think they are capable of communicating with us like that, despite what many people claim.

ouija boards worked for me when i used them alone. always. spirits are very capable of communicating to us in various ways...ouija boards being 1 of those ways. people who discard it as a silly board game, well...then they've never had a real experience with the board. which is a good thing. its dangerous for people to "play" with the occult. people shouldnt dabble in it for fun, theres a lot of responsibility involved with it.

Sometimes I think that it's just the wrong type of board to use.. Like the real wooden quality ones are the only ones that work. I just can't help but be skeptical, because I also know that people can trick themselves into believing anything. Do you suppose that maybe I just wasn't concentrating enough? This was years ago when I tried it.. Long before I even remotely understood anything about the paranormal.

I believe in them to a point.

If you believe in spirits i think you'll be able to work with the ouijia board..

also i think it's a dangerous thing and not to be messed around with in a joking way

my two cents =)

I believe you can talk yourself into thinking anything is working if you really want to,but in reality it isn't working you're just trippin but if trippin makes you happy eh....so be it.:eyesmoke:;-)

My ex had one dating back to 18th C Germany ( where they originated ) and it worked, but only in her house.

im not sure if concentration would be the issue with the board not working when alone...it could be...i havent touched one in years. i also think that with the board u can concentrate too much and over think things, so maybe that was the problem. you just kinda have to go with it.

Isn't it also very important to say goodbye to the spirits at the end to "close the door"?

its all part of the thank yous at the end...i dont always say good bye and close the door tho...sometimes i like to keep the gates open and let them know they're welcome to stop by and visit :) but yea...if i feel the spirit is negative...always close the door on them.

they work cuz your pulse moves the pointer. the more nervous you get the more it moves. that's just my take on it.

That's a good take on it. But go one step deeper and ask. what's making the user "more" or "less" nervous? Ever walk into a room and have the hair on the back of you neck stand up? that's just one of many examples.
