Organic Compost Tea Question

Do you think this would be okay for a 3-4 week old plant?

All this is Per Gal

2 TBSP Of Mexican Bat Guano (10-2-1)
1 TBSP Of Peruvian Seabird Guano (10-10-2)
2 TBSP Of Worm Casting (1-0-0)
1 TBSP Of Unsulphured Molasses

And then letting it brew for 48 Hours. Using a 50W fish tank heater with 2-4 inch air stones. Keeping the temp around 75-80

Sounds good. Go easy at first with the brew until you use it a few times and get a feel for its strength. Plants will love it though.

Bruce Deuley and Bob Webster have amazing infomation on the subject, you should also check out Dr. Elaine Ingham, shes been using and research teas for over 25 years now. Check out the links @ the bottom they are more compost tea videos one has both Bruce and Bob in it.

Im trying to replace my fertilizer with compost tea. Im using Bio-Canna, which is amazing its just a bit expensive. I would love to see some other tea recipes.

For a flowering compost tea im going to try this out, let me know what you guys think.
All Measurements are for 4 Gallons of water

8 TBSP Earth Worm Casting
3 TBSP Indonesian Bat Guano
3 TBSP Jamaican Bat Guano
4 TBSP unsulphured molasses

And brew for 48 Hours

will you be keeping this at a constant temperature?

also, i use very little molasses. 1 tbs per 5 gallons. i like to 'think' this prevents bacteria population from exploding and overtaking the whole mix, but then again i take bong rips of chronic all day long, and have never taken any college courses to back my claims up. so. . .what the fuck.

Way to funny T.... Im still learning, This tea is kept @ 75-80 via a 50W fish tank heater. Right now im using 4 Gals in a 5 Gal Bucket. Smells great very earthy and sweet, like a old forest or swamp.
 
Keep an eye on it. The peruvian really foams and bubbles up. I find it best to just do the peruvian in a milk jugs using the shake method. Then add it to my bubbled tea before feeding. Also it is a good idea to start the jug of peruvian a day ahead of the bubble tea.
 
at 75 degrees, cut that molasses down and try a 15 hour brew. bacteria should be settling down, and there ought to be a nice bacteria/fungi ratio. endo-mycorrhizal spore are also a good friend.

5 gallon water coolers with the little spout at the bottom are the best. fills my bottles up, with no mess.

trichlone fiend is right, too. kelp is a necessity in my garden. do your ladies a favor, and pick up a pound of the powdered from that link in my last post.
 
Oh ya, and I would drop that temp to about 70 or so. Anything over 75 and things can happen too fast and go anarobic on you. At 70 degrees you will get good stimulation and growth in a 2 day brew.

i have brewed teas outside in summertime florida. it almost never gets below 75-80 at night. never have experienced what you are talking about with the batch creating anaerobic conditions, as long as a good amount of fresh air is being introduced. what i have seen is: hotter it is= greater activity= more air needed! im not at all saying i don't brew mine at 70, though, because i range my stuff from 65-75 degrees. whichever temp i choose remains constant throughout the process, though.

and i would def. argue against the 2 day brew. eukaryotic organisms should be developing greatly at this extended period of time, and they will be eating your bacteria/fungi.

and once again, i never have never claimed to be a microbiologist!:bigjoint:

The first time I made the tea I just did a 1 GAL brew and used Peruvian seabird, and man that formed half way up the 5 GAL. When I make my teas im smelling them constantly, to make sure they always smell "Like an old forest/ sweet" and it did the whole time... I will try to keep it lower to help with the fungi, but I did order this stuff called VAM + Activator (Link @ bottom) that has a ton of different strains of fungus in it and humic and fulvic acid, all the yummies for my plants... I will go out and get some liquid or powder seaweed extract, is there a certain brand or anything I should look for?
