Oregon Blues is Oregon Diesel x Jamaican Blueberry = (Blackberry x NYC Diesel) x (Jamaican x Blueberry).

Subcool gives some great detail about half of this cross in his original post: Oregon Diesel: https://www.rollitup.org/subcools-old-school-organics/461591-oregon-diesel-perfect-pnw-plant.html which highlights the medicinal properties and early finishing of the Oregon Diesel strain. This magnificent Oregon strain is crossed with an amazing Jamaican cross that has been grown in family for 3 generations. What will happen from this union... let's see.

5 Oregon Blues were started on 06/03/12 using Subcool's Shoebox Rapid Rooter method. We flipped our Rapid Rooters upside down, pulled out a new hole in the bottom, wetted them down and placed our seeds inside. These starts were placed under 24 hour fluorescents until they sprouted. 4 of 5 made it to root. Woot!

cannabis-oregonblues-2784.jpgcannabis-oregonblues-g5-2896.jpg

Once sprouted, we put the rapid rooters into 1 gallon hard pots filled with Sunshine Mix4 soil and continued watering with BotaniCare's basic feed schedule. These 4 Oregon Blues were grown out under fluorescents for about a 6 weeks before heading under the MH for a couple weeks to harden them up. Each was topped to give us our keeper mothers for each pheno.

Let's pick this up in week 7 from germination…

UPDATE: Day 51 of Veg from germination.

Our 4 Oregon Blues 1 gallon testers have developed their 6 main heads and are ready for bloom at this point. We will give them a couple more days under the MH while we transition their nutrients to flower and then switch them to 12/12 HPS. These plants got worked over hard like all our 1 gallon testers do. Our hope is to stress the fuck out of them through our initial test run so we can see how they react. Primarily this has been an inconsistent routine with nutrients and light scheduling as these plants are moved around the garden through their initial 8 weeks of veg. They certainly get MAD love when they get attention... but they are testers and are treated as such. We have quite a bit of variation with these plants and they don't seem to be completely loving life (they are droopy and funky compared to other testers by their side). #1 is an absolutely crazy beatch that we have had trouble keeping low through the grow. #1-3 all have big phat leaves while #4 has the skinny leaves. I just don't know what to expect since I don't personally know the parents. I do have high hopes for this strain so we will see what happens..

UPDATE: Day 32 of Flower. I reduced the heads on some of our Oregon Blues because they just couldn't keep up. These plants are voracious eaters and I am having trouble keeping up with their nutrient needs in the 1 gallon pots… Mostly I am loving the color and aroma these plants are giving off. My favorite is #4 for sure with the strongest coloration and sweetest aroma. You can tell by all the photos that I took of #4 that she's my baby...

UPDATE:
Day 51 of Flower. Watching these plants flower has been an exciting ride. These girls are looking amazing for all they have been through. There is serious yellowing going on here, I have not been able to keep these girls fed in these 1 gal pots, they just want more and more. #2 has thrown just a few sterile nanners at the end here but with all the stress they have endured (which has been waaaaay more than my usual) I am surprised all three haven't blown full hermied. #4 is still blowing my mind. On looks and aroma alone she is definitely numero uno. Oregon Blues is a fully aggressive exciting strain, a vigorous eater and a truly beautiful plant if you have the space to grow her or the time to tame her.

Oregon Blues #2: mid, 33" - Strong Berry aroma with purple hues and deep greens. Resin looks like crushed glass on fucking incredible grapey power nugs. Trichomes are cloudy and amber so she is done at 51. A few sterile nanners at the end here are our only concern with #2.

Oregon Blues #3: mid, 31" - Purple stems and green buds with scattered orange hairs covering phat bugs coated in wet resin with a funky BO aroma. No purple buds with this pheno, pure power green. Cloudy trichomes with just a little amber keeps this girl in flower..

Oregon Blues #4: short, 31" - Deep purple and full of krunk, serious blackberry funk aroma on squat power nugs with sick resin rails that are completely off the hook. 10% Amber in the trichomes so she is also done at 51. I love this plant.

Awesome coverage of this new strain. Hovering have you tried a smoke report yet. I am loving that #4, Great color, fast and bag value. I have been looking at adding a colorful addition to my lineup and this Oregon blues may have already beat the Ace for the spot. Always impressive Growlogs. Was there any temp change near the end to bring out the color?

They are just hanging as of last night so initial smoke report will be in about 7-10 days..

And no temp changes, I was actually a little hot this run, hitting 82 daytime, 72 nighttime, not where I usually want to be. I assume the colors will be even more intense over the winter when my temps are back in line.
