Oreganism xl

So Im in my first week of budding and just got oreganism xl my friend wants me to use it as top dressing and i want to put it in my water. Has anyone tryed both and what worked for you. I have 3 outdoor plants on my patio and 4 oz of the xl.

mix it with 5 - 15 mL of molasses and water it in. Make sure there is no chlorine / chloromines in the water.
