Ordering Seeds With PrePaid Credit Cards

I thought I might post this here, look for suggestions and discuss peoples experiences with this crap.
So I wanted to order seeds online from companies but of course they're all in other more free countries. ;-)

OF course most prepaid credit cards no longer work internationally, some law was passed a few years ago to limit our rights, I mean monitor our activities... :cuss: by making it illegal for those companies who make the cards to let them be used internationally.
------------
Research left me with two options:
1.)Western Union prepaid MasterCard
or
2.)Visa TravelMoney card

1.)For the WU one I called multiple locations listed on their website as places that sell the card in my area (10+) which all had no idea what I was talking about. I called customer service a total of 3 times. Every time I spoke to someone who could barely speak English from India. One time I was disconnected. I got no answers despite my effort. My conclusion is that nobody sells it, you have to do paperwork and have them mailed to you. That's my best guess.

2.)Visa TravelMoney: Online on a yahoo answers section it was stated most banks can issue them. I called Chase, TD, and Capital One, nobody has them... The website said there's a place that sells them, AAA. This seems to be the real deal but the nearest place I can buy one is about 54 miles away so... Bleh

Fortunately I sent away for my Paypal Debit card a few days ago which should work... Now I gotta wait ><:cuss:

What a nightmare.
Land of the free, I think George Carlin would agree, ya gotta be high to believe it.:eyesmoke:

does the seedbank take cash? i'm sure i'll catch hella flack for this but we mailed cash to the seed place we bought from... in the UK :) it cost about $14 to send registered - no signature confirmation or insurance is available as those are USPS products (and once they leave the US... uninsurable), but it got there in about 7 days no problems.

Ya, as you said you have to pretty much register any prepays that authorize international purchases nowadays. Someone on here said they used the visa vanilla at herbies but I cant vouch on it.

Isn't it legal to buy seeds as a souvenir?
It's only illegal if you germinate them.

Man up just use your own card.
Dont be a paranoid stonner about it.

The only thing I would worry about is not getting seeds and getting a letter from customs. If your insecure order from hempdepot and use a money order

I2icho as I said before I don't have one.

So it looks like TD bank has a prepaid visa that you can use internationally. gonna try that tomorrow, hate to wait longer for the PayPal one to come
yea bigtrees looks like you're right about the good old patriot act, I was reading that somewhere and wondered why the f would that be in the patriot act.. Then the anonymous not being able to track someone... it because obvious.

Western Union MOs work internationally and the only real name you have to use is the payees. It beats sending cash at least. And MrNiceSeeds takes them, which works for me.

I think paypal will be the best choice for ordering seed. I have a Hello Kitty Credit Card but it is not applicable for international use. The paypal is the best source for money transitions and it can be use at anytime and anywhere.
