Insaneseeds and Insane-seeds Scam Site.. Buyer Beware

I uncovered a pretty rotten scam yesterday. I thought I would share the details with the greater online community and hopefully save someone the unfortunate situation of being in a predicament like I was recently. I saw Insaneseeds mentioned not long ago as a reputable dealer on the Exotic Genetix website.

They had a variety of packs that I was interested in and advertisements on Instagram mentioning this new "Power Sherb" boxset. I clicked on the link in the Instagram and that led me to a website claiming to be the dealer and had a similar URL..

the scam site is-

The real reputable dealer site is -

At first I didn't realize there was a difference and I placed a small order on the scam site and headed over to the post office and mailed a blank money order not realizing it was a scam.

After sending payment and still being on the scam website and not realizing it, I tried to update them with my payment but their site couldn't log me in. I emailed the scammer still thinking it was legitimate and then said.. we'll look into it.. thats strange. But they never replied back.

Later in the day I google searched "Insane Seeds" and tried to login.. and I couldn't. I thought, wow this is odd. I then had realized it's not the same site that I had placed the order. I then knew I was scammed. I saw the small difference in the URL and the fact that the scam site had very few followers and I immediately called the destination post office and made an intercept mail request to retrieve my payment and send it back to me. Hopefully that'll work out. If not, it'll suck to be scammed but luckily the order is less than $200.

I just wanted to post about my experience and let others know that scams like this exist and this one is pretty well thought out as they have a registered URL that's very close to the legitimate URL for Insaneseeds.com and it's east to be fooled. If I can save one person from making the same mistake I did, this post will have been worth it.

Here is what the two different sites look like side by side..

Have you emailed the legit site to let them know? Chances are, they probably do, but it doesn't hurt to contact them, just in case.
I did. They confirmed the copycat site was a scam. They didn't tell me however if they were aware of the scam before me notifying them. I wouldn't have a difficult time believing they never heard of it however due to the low Instagram following the scam site has.. it may very well be a brand new site or recently established. The site is so well designed that it fooled me. Someone spent a lot of time putting this scam together.
